Community Interest-Free Lending Initiative

Helping one another, without interest.

We are exploring the creation of a volunteer-led, not-for-profit community fund that provides interest-free loans to people experiencing financial difficulties.

The idea is simple: community members contribute money into a shared pool, which could then be used to provide 0% interest loans to those who need financial support.

Unlike conventional donations, the proposed model aims to allow contributors to request the return of their remaining funds, subject to withdrawal rules, available liquidity, potential losses and appropriate legal arrangements.

We are conducting this short survey to understand whether there is sufficient community interest to take the idea forward.

Contribute

Community members voluntarily make money available to support the fund.

Support

The fund aims to provide interest-free loans to people in need.

Recycle

As borrowers repay, the money becomes available to help others.

This is an exploratory community survey. No funds are being collected. Any future initiative would be subject to legal, regulatory and governance requirements. Contributions would not necessarily be immediately withdrawable.

How Could This Work?

A proposed model — not a currently operating service.

  3. 3Loans are assessed and approved under agreed safeguards.
  4. 4Borrowers repay their loans without interest.
  5. 5Repaid money becomes available to support others.
  6. 6Contributors may request withdrawal under future agreed terms.
